Preliminary
Training Course
Applicants after the admission shall enter the preliminary
Training Course for a period of three months. No leave shall
be granted during this period. Progress Report will be sent
to the parents after the Preliminary Examination. Students
must pass examination in all the subjects other wise she will
be have to discontinue the training programme. Evaluations
The students are evaluated periodically.
- P.T.S. Examination.
- First year state exam.
- Second year state exam.
- Third year state exam.
- Model examination before each Council Exam. Candidates
who fail in the model exam or who do not meet the requirements
according to the Indian Nursing Council will be detained
from the Council Examination.
- A monthly evaluation of work and conducts is also done.
- According to the Indian Nursing Council rules, if the
student fails in the examination in more than one subject
or oral/practical she will be detained to join the next
junior group. According to the school policy a student who
persistently fails in her exams or in her clinical performance
and found unsatisfactory will be advised to leave the school.
Examination and Promotion
The Nursing Council holds regular examinations at the end
of the first year, second year and third year provided the
students comply with the requirements laid down by the Council.
Those who pass with at least 50% in each subject will be promoted
to next class. Students are evaluated in the theory and clinical
practice of Nursing. Personal growth and reliability are also
evaluated. A student who fails to score 50 %in the internal
assessment is not eligible to be sent for the council examination
according to I.N.C. (Indian Nursing Council). Student needs
to have 50 % marks in the internal exam and external exam
separately for promotion.
S.N.A
General Nursing & Midwifery (G.N.M) students have their
own association called Student Nurses Association (S.N.A)
which is affiliated to the Trained Nurses Association of India
(T.N.A.I). This is organized by their elected leaders and
forms the branch of National S.N.A. The students have the
opportunity to participate in the competitions arranged at
State level and National level. Picnics, parties and variety
entertainment are organised by the S.N.A and the Annual sports
day is organised by the Institution to provide ample opportunities
for the students to exhibit their personal talents.
All the students are enrolled as Student Nurses Association
members. They are encouraged to become Life Members of Trained
Nurses Association of India by the end of their course. Ms.
Ravinder and Ms. Kanchan are the S.N.A advisors to the students
and under their watchful eyes the unit is functioning well.
The S.N.A and faculty members participate in the conferences,
competitions and workshops held at various places at the state
and National levels.
